Mother breathes the space before
the paper leaves her hand
hitting upon the floor.
She screams out an epitath
to a god thats fallen asleep
whispering her sin to him
and hoping he'll keep.
The tears fall down
like the winters unrest
collasping to her feet
they sing in harmony.
The tales of her life
that brought about her son
who flees in all ways
she could only dream of.
How he stands on his own
while just across the way
stands a woman whom he loves
and wants to look away.
Standing next to her
a lover from the past
who molded his anger
and loved without cause.
So she wonders about his heart,
of the choices he makes
looking in a frame of glass,
she sees herself in him.

Wow! this is truly outstanding! a most powerful poem. I've read it over a couple of times and am still unsure of what you may have intended for the reader to grasp. But it brings to the mind and heart many things from my past.

excellent!

Michael, this is exceptional writing.  Very, very powerful.  I know in writing this piece you most have felt a sense of anger and perhaps even a loss for words from her actions.

If you are like her...she too must have a  special heart hidden somewhere.

Hugs and love,

Marina

In the mirror of your heart, what do you see?

That's the question here.

I agree with Marina, she must have a heart like yours.  Excellent writing.

This is DEEP, m'friend. An intriguing read, that speaks differently to me each time...(yes, I keep reading it over, grin...)

What a talent you have! I love the cyclic nature of this, the mirrors of ourselves in each other...fantastic!!!
