Warrior Woman
Karen Torbiak
2000

Joy courses through
the breast of this
Warrior Woman,
for she knows
she has fought the battles
of her life and is the victor

Now begins her journey
to reach the world
of the man whose love
has given her the strength
to face the twisted
trails of her life and self

The battles have been
hard fought and won,
with fear and pain
stalking each path chosen
as she steadfastly
moved, courageously, forward

Determination was the pure,
strong, steed
upon which she rides
through nightmare realities
that she may come face
to face with her fears

Willingness the armor,
that protected her
from hurt revisited,
as it shielded her
from the greatest hurt,
to finally be banished

Sent from the Higher Power
this man who holds her heart
ever urges her forward
as he casts light into a darkness
black with the pain of a lifetime
filled with rejection

Knowing the battles
must be won
that her dreams may
be finally realized,
and she may finally join
with the man she loves

With courage
and an awareness
that the Higher Power
is with her she
surged forward
with her whole heart

Battles many, be they
large or small,
must be waged
from a life so filled
with pain, unending
as the are faced, fought and won

Gaining strength
and self-esteem
with each battle
makes her armor
shine the brighter as
fights the battle of her life

Joy fills the breast
of this Warrior Woman
as she kneels, with love,
at the feet of this man
who fills her dreams and spirit
for he is the reward blessed to her

The gift she brings
is the precious gift of self
with willingness,
determination and courage
showing a woman now
freed to love completely

IF she is free to love completely, then she has won the battle!  What a testimony!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

"precious gift of self"

the one and only thing any one can ever give.

Your last two stanzas really stand out .

What a wonderfully romantic tale!!  May she always love freely and completely.  Great writing here my friend.
