Soul gripped with an icy glove
frozen by the hand of her lost love
Crystals make a dazzling scene
She’s been crowned the Glacial Queen

There’s not a flame to melt the bars
nor healing for the buried scars
She’ll not weep for lover’s past
nor believe that love can last

Once bronzed by Passion’s fire
her soul did burn with desire
Promised walks in eternity
loved with such sweet purity

She woke one day and he was gone
cold and alone she met the dawn
No trace of him left behind
only love to haunt her mind

One dark day his grave was found
under the snowy earth he was crowned
She lay and wept upon the stone
till frozen and weary to the bone

She walked away a frozen tomb
where only shadows dare to loom
Left upon his silent grave
glistened  the tears of love she gave

A sunlit ray danced upon their form
like a rare sparkling gem to adorn
Within a winter breeze they froze
and formed a single....perfect rose

ahhhh my frigid butterfly LOL...
ERR..that came out wrong   hehe
what a lovely weave my sweet SS..
this is an awesome tale...
it has all the elements a moth loves to read
this is  bittersweet, but beautiful imagery with the visions of the snow and ice.
your fantasy pen has given us a work of beauty me sweet
must be nice to have a muse
love this
you too
me

Sprayed across my heart and hers
Danced butterflies in the wild
This angel, this woman ,
who loves me with the innocence of a child.

Holly, I do believe you've transcended the cocoon stage of writing and have completely metamorphosized into the butterfly of beauty that you were always meant to be....

This...is a poem.

And it belongs in everyone's library...

Now look who is posting poetic perfection and taking us all into the depths of total awe with her writing.  This my friend is just lovely and though it is one of sadness, when I look deep into it, I find the total strength of love all that it has to offer.  Yes, the PERFECT ROSE for sure just as you are the perfect butterfly.

BDC,

My dear friend, this one is hauntingly beautiful.  The end is absolutely perfect.  You have grown in leaps and your writing reflects that.  Loved this tale you told so well.  Great work.

Wow!  This is an excellent piece!! So well written, a painted picture filled my head, making me regret that not a single drop of artistic juice runs through me, this needs a fantastic oil painting to adorn it.  I absolutely love it!

With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free..

From the opening stanza, through the last word, I read in expectancy of the next line...compelling work, very much enjoyed.
