Too Weak To Stand

I see a spot e’er candles burn &
lovers watch the night the hollow sound
inside yerself keeps telling you ta write and
songs of love will ne’er leave such lovers
feeling soiled yet tides turnin’ waves
a burning whilst water fill such
toiling price... look love
has risen till the
ceiling won’t
withstand
a price

love
has
risen
till the
ceilings
can’t cave

in the tears you’ve

shed inside yourself were
not at all in vain they are
but what God is calling
back to His domain
& you know He
loves you
need I
say

just

the same

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

For my friend Elizabeth
& her beloved husband Tony
from Dale & Rosemary
Gwaltney

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

We have this treasure in
earthen vessels that the excellency
of the power may be of God and not of
us. We are troubled on every side, yet
not distressed; we are perplexed,
but not in despair;
persecuted,
but not
forsaken;
cast down but not

destroyed.

II Corinthians 4:7-9

lucky,
it seem's than when we hold hands in a loving link the sorrow disappates and compassion multiplies a thousand fold. I love what you've written for Elizabeth.

This is so fitting.
What a special heart beats in that chest of yours.

Dale and Rosemary,
This poem is so exqusite, the meaning so powerful, written by hands that have known sorrow and its validity in our lives, who have known the power of God, and know that all the steps we plod have purpose and meaning. I am so honored by your words, from two who have given me inspiration, two gentle hearts whom I have admired. Thank you for this poem and for the accomanying passage. I, like Kethry, love what you have written.
Thank you, dear friends

lucky - I know you worked long into the night, writing poems for Liz and her family; and out of several, I'm glad you chose this to post.

I love the delicately worded care for her pain, and the acknowledgement of their love for each other.  Theirs has been an outstandingly wonderful love affair throughout their marriage; Tony an exceptional husband;  Elizabeth an exceptional wife.  I'm glad their children hold so much love for their parents - but how could they not!  I grieve for them all.

I could not get past my tears to write, but I thank you for adding me, because my care is so great, even if I find myself lacking words.  I know Elizabeth understands that.

But the Bible verses you chose are so true.  God will hold them close in love, and they will never be forsaken.

The spiritual wind that holds survivors aloft, plants the seeds from which bloom new hope ... R.J.G.

With great sadness of heart I say a small thank you for your time and reading. I'm unable at this time to find proper words for Elisabeth. This was written for my witness to God and to let everyone know that there is always hope... maybe not the hope we see that's here and temporal but a better hope which only comes from on high. A new life begins for Tony and for this my eyes shine bright. And as Liz and myself would probably agree. Though we toil here yet, truely, it is THERE that we long to be and never again be threatened that any love depart from us.

My Deepest Sympathy
