He painted once with vim and verve,
unminding of the lines of curve.
Skies glowed pinks, grass opaque,
flowers splotched, every which way.

Possessed by color, a rainbow page,
the matrix dot of madman's rage.
The critics came, critique verbose.
They analyzed. They stood too close.

"There are no lines."
"It makes no sense."
"No technique."
"Talentless."

As they shrugged and walked away,
one glanced back and saw the grace
of canvas sparkling with hue--
a world in kiss of morning dew...

"How brave you are with palette knife!"
The painter laughed and said, "that's life..."

So if your world is black and grey.
Take the time. Step back a pace.
Confines of line are tricks of mind--
be brave, and paint your world "Monet".

Serenity, how I adore your style of write...

This is exquisite my dear and I believe JM says it perfectly... "a true sign of a gifted poet is when they can write about ANYTHING" and that you are...

As always, thank you for the enjoyable read

"outstanding" "perfect" "most beautiful" (i could go on and on and on - I absolutely love the way  you've put Monet in poetry - Can I suggest you now move on to Georgia O'Keefe, Vincent Van Gogh, Casset - and whoever else strikes your fancy?

This is wonderful... along with your work, I get to enjoy some fond recollections from our earliest forum days... Green Polar Bear was one of our original moderators here - He's quite a good poet in his own right... You've done the challenge proud, serenity..
