You see I had it planned
I had a diagram
From toys that please
To little cheese
Sold with jars of jam

I had each step planned out
My cash not be fanned out
By merchants on the strip
I gave shoppers little tip
Don’t buy, just try
To extend your shopping trip

The halo from skylight
Gave me a guilty fright
My shopping buddy
Her face all ruddy
From dragging me so tight

wayoutwalt my shopping friend
This madness you must end
If shoppers do not buy
Then sellers surely cry
On this Christmas depends

Walt, I spied you at Radio Shack
On every computer screen
You wrote a Christmas poem
I cried twas so obscene

DeVine, I followed you
You bought a razor for Uncle Nick
And a tie for Uncle Ty
I want your secret tell me quick
As what to get my cousin Rick
Mr. I have it already guy

Don’t worry for me Walt
What I get, it ain't your fault
It’s closing time for mall
You have not shopped at all
Grab a pole and to
the toy shop we shall vault

So PDV and me
We hurdled high over shoppers
Spitting at security coppers
Bottoms skiding skating rink
Our brows furrowed as to think
What to get walt’s teeny boppers

So in the toy store we arrived
I said that commerce surely thrived
The line from cheek to cheek
Would have taken up a week
All the way to the ginsu knives
I lost track of Poet Devine
But I heard a scream “no that’s mine!”
Everyone ran for their shopping lives

The toy clerks apt and able
Left thus to end this fable
Crying, "It's Christmas Eve
Santa knows we believe"
So we grabbed toys in our sacks
And left a fifty on the table!

Merry Christmas you'll find
We stare out the window
Cuz Walt got left behind
Still playin Nintendo

Merry Christmas to all
And to all a good night
deVine passes out gifts
To all Poet's delight

I think I am exhausted, now, Walt...now I KNOW I'm hanging with Sharon in the bookstore...grins to you...and a HO HO HO...

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.
