My Lost HOrizon

I live in a valley, lost
between two holy mountains
at the foot of the temple of god.

Some villages are poor,
without fresh fish or flowers -
my village has both to share.

Once a great general
stopping for water
admired our chrysanthemums.

Daily the gongs chant and hum
bathing our valley
in cool waves of air.

From the temple above
rise the holy men's prayers
like great flocks of white doves.

I live in a valley, lost
between two holy mountains
like a river that wanders alone.

my goodness, look at the beauty that was sitting, waiting, quietly, for someone to read...

wonderful...

THIS is a finely crafted, well written poem. You've shown an economy of language that we don't see often, very well done, I am impressed!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.
