Somewhere... out there...

a single flame
uninhibited
as it burns

how i long
for the freedom
of the fire

to dance it's own dance
to feel what it feels
to be what it
wishes to be...

looking into the
deep, rich
colors-
vivid shades of
emotion-
i become mesmerized...

forever lost
in the carefree waltz
of the candlelight...

Vicky, I never thought of envying a flame, but you make a good case for it.  I especially like the "vivid shades of emotion".

Quite a compelling piece.  Your sentence at the end causes me to wonder if we have a fictional piece here or not.

I love candlelight, especially this time of the year, and this made me light several!

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.
