There's No Need

There's no need for you to fetch me stars shining bright
And I don't desire the moon to cast for me her silver light
You don't have to give me jewels or gems with hearts of fire
I don't need beautiful words or poems that speak of your desire
Please no gifts of gold for precious metals just don't impress
I don't want a Cartier watch or a flashy Valantino dress
All I want is to take a simple stroll with you across the bay
All I need is to wake up in your arms at the start of my day

There's no reason for you to give me an angel's soft smile
And I don't really need you to tramp for miles and miles
You don't have to sprinkle glowing stardust above my head
I don't need you to buy me Queen Cleopatra's exotic bed
Please no presents of gaudy silks, or flowing satin sheets
I don't want a Bentley Rolls, or elegant yachts in fleets
All I desire is to feel your heart beating next to mine
All I need is to hear your satisfied and happy that's fine

There's no need for you to ask the clouds to enfold me
And I don't want a rainbow captured for only me to see
You don't have to gift me with flowers beautiful and rare
I don't need for you to build me a mansion for us to share
Please no gifts of soft bears, or my name tattooed in a heart
I don't want a ring, or promises that we won't ever part
All I need is to hear you say that you truly love only me
All I desire is our love to grow it's as simple as it can be

So, so powerfully said!  Love, love, love...the epitome of love for another!

Each stanza can stand all alone.  heh-heh, feed them one at a time to your sweetheart!

My favorite is the first, though!

Startime, Thank you, I really do thank you, now this is the type of poems I normally write. I'm the mush queen.

Circe, thank you sweet, I do really enjoy seeing your name on my posts. You always say such sweet things, even when I don't deserve them.
Take care
               Mushy

JM, many many times thank you. I'm so pleased you like this one, I actually worked on this. Meaning that this isn't from the magic poet fairy, this is all mine. So thank you.

VAS, It is? Actually, mine is the last, but that's because I'm a sucker for rainbows. It's just that I can't fit a rainbow in everything, otherwise I probably would. Thank you very muchly.

Marge, just put it down to my weird English ways. It's probably because when the consultants do their rounds the car park is over-run with them. And I have no where to park my little rusty heap. Anyway can you really see me in a Bentley, no neither can I.!! It's a bit like seeing a fish on a bicycle, very out of place. Glad you liked it, and it is isn't it, very mushy, I couldn't stay away for long.

Daniel J D, thank you for saying that, I do cherish each reply I really do. I think it's because even now I never expect them to get get any. (Except my fun one's, I can definitely see their appeal.)

Take care
                 Mushy Marsha
