She had in her possession
An ancient artifact
An ebony dagger
Of unknown origin

When she saw the unicorn
She knew
She held his head
And gazed into his eyes

You know, whispered the warrior
You know what to do
And she ran to get the dagger
From its resting place

In her eager anticipation
To fulfill her lifelong dream
She slipped upon the meadow green
And plunged the dagger deep

The unicorn dropped to his knees
His eyes on the Ladys' face
I canna help you, the warrior cried
It is you who must do this deed

You have been strong so long my Lady
Be strong once more for me
And she rose from blood stained grass
To pull the dagger free

Blood flowed free
As she stumbled to his side
And with the last of her strength
Fit the dagger to his broken horn

And as she lay there dying
He became whole
Wonderous in his beauty
Glorious in his strength

With the warrior kneeling at her side
She drew her last trembling breath
I love you, she whispered
Then the light faded from her eyes

But theres magic in a unicorn horn
And a debt to be repaid
He came to stand beside her
And gently blew upon her face

And with a touch of ebony horn
He gave her back
What she had given him
Forever in her heart...a unicorn horn

Paula, this is a wonderful enchanted trilogy you've written here. Oh wow, this is utterly delightful, and you are so great at writing these. You really are love. I love it, I really truly do. If only I could get my knights to do something except play the fool. (Ah well, I suppose everyone could do with a smile, but I want romance!)
Beautifully done love
Take care
