If there's laundry to be done
Or other such "yuk" chores,
I'd rather curl up on the couch
And fill the air with snores.
But if my tiny nephew asks,
I'll play games through the night
Then tickle him and smooch him
Snuggle him close and tight.
And to me, it's like the plague
If I must go to the mall
Though it may be just cross the street,
It's far too long a haul!
But to share time with a friend
I will gladly drive miles
With never a thought of it,
My face just wreathed in smiles.
I can spend hours gazing at trees
Dressed in autumn's multi-colored hues
But five minutes in a check-out line
Gives this gal the blues!
But joy comes from my family,
My friends, and pretty trees
Time and patience are there for them
It's a matter of priorities.

Now see? If you keep practicing you'll be able to write poetry like me?....(just drink a bunch of booze, smoke tons of dope, take gobs of acid, forget about English, punctuation, rhyme, flow, and then quit all the drugs, go for about 30 years, and you'll be able to write like me)?....Or, just keep on with what you do if ya wanna be another expert like some of these talented people here......LOL

Mall = plague

suthern, move over...I'm joining you on the couch to give tickles to your nephew...

and may I invite you to walk the pasture with me...

I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.
