My Mountain Fantasy
Karen Torbiak
2000

Rounding the corner
of this mountain park,
soaking up the holy view,
shaped by His hand

My eyes widen with joy,
to take in crags of mountains,
and the towering trees I love
standing tall and steadfast

An amazing site, before
my eyes, a mountain goat,
skipping, running through
the wood not far from me

My heart constricts in pain
aware for I have no one
whose eyes would light as
this wonder we would share

Along the twists and turns I go,
missing not a single sight
of pleasure that will refresh
and touch my soul deeply

My senses sharpen as my ears
strain seeking the magic sound
that will take me to the place
I’ve found within the hidden places

The rushing sound of crystal,
running stream, fills my ears
drawing me closer as I stroll
down the path to lower ground

My breath is caught in a gasp
of pleasure by what I see,
set before me in this beautiful
glade as I walk into fantasy

A sparkling pool, crystal clear,
reflecting green in the sunlight,
spread out for me alone to see
for none other knows of this place

The rushing sound of crashing
waters make a mighty roar
that releases me from trapped
flesh that my soul may fly free

The towering falls cascade down
like ribbons of sparkling diamonds
to fill the pool that I have found and
send little wave lets against the shore

Though I am all alone in this place
I am free to set myself in fantasy
created just for me that I can share
the beauty of this place with one like me

I cast my gaze to the crystal, clear, pool
and set my spirit free to weave a
dream and see that which my mortal
eyes had been trained not to see

I see him standing waist deep
in the center of the magical pool,
with a knowing smile lighting
a face that shows his joy to see me

The look in his eyes tells me that
he knows the desire within my heart,
is to be held in strong arms
coming from a gentle, giving heart

I walk close to the edge of the
pool keeping my eyes on his
as he beckons me to enter the warm
waters that are rippling at my feet

Dropping my cloths at my feet
I walk carefully into the pool and
take the hand he reaches out to me,
feeling fire ignite as our fingers touch

Without a word our bodies meet
drawing close as warm waters flow
around us caressing our bodies
in an embrace of it own magical kind

Holding each other heart to heart
with arm wrapped pulling close
as love is shared within this glen
making two become at one complete

Our spirits seem to join as one
without the need of words to speak,
we love each other then to sleep
to wake and then make love again

He loved me well he loved me right
then kissing me gently on the lips
he rose and walked within the
waterfalls and out of my site

As I slowly open my sun-laden eyes
I smile a secret smile as I think
of words that bring joy to me
and are both strong and wise

Within this fantasy I have created for me
I’ve found the love who joins with my heart
in dreams I weave from a heart filled
with longing that he will be real someday

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. [URL=http://path2riches.com]http://path2riches.com

That's a wonderful fantasy, Karen, and you paint it so vividly. That's one great thing about being poets....even when we don't have the real thing, we have the imagination to create it!!

yanno?..I had a mountain fantasy once.....I dreamed I was sleeping next to Dolly Parton......then, all of a sudden, I heard Twiggy singing some song about plastic surgery and silicone implants and woke up......yanno?....some of us poor guys have no luck at all.....but, seriously, this was a wonderful piece of work...as you probably know, I rarely get serious about anything, but this was truly pretty....
