deal the cards, I'm taking
on the rest of my life

chance, luck
circumstance
fortune, fame
fellows follow
games of chance,
chances are,
luck's all hollow

(can you spell capricious?)

you make what
you take
you give when
you live
c'mon, explore with me…
take my hand
come prance with me…

(come and say: visionary luminary)

there's still
mystery
there's still
a sunrise to see
there's still
stars that shine
and always
a line to rhyme

(what it's like to be so inclined)

you can laugh
say it's "no good"
head of wood
be misunderstood
go ahead…
I'll feel for you
be sorry for you
but you've the clue
to get ahead

LIFE!

gotta love it
don't care for
the alternative
~ not quite ready yet ~
want to smile
can't wait the while
to LIVE!

OK, so I'm UP!
wrote once upon a time
all about falling UP…
what fun in rhyme,
to be fantastical,
life's BEGUN

(let's go off and be whimsical)

c'mon with me!
you can smile
through misery
when you see
where you could be

(see the Cat in his Hat who brought
a rhyme of That to be mixed with This
come and get your Kiss)

now lift, c'mon
come lift UP with me
the heart~worn
the weary
the sad
those less cheery

and nay the
nay~sayers
slay the dragons
of misery
come along and play
with Puff and Me…

(and be the child with me
be the wild with me
see this side of me
and make the smile wide of me)

make my smile
last awhile
then
see the smiles
all around
gone are the frowns

lift a crying child
help the meek go wild
hear the laughter
sparkling
remarkable to think
this has come from
you and me

as we sing
songs of silly
as we wheel
the willy-nilly
all along
this day

(and Michael,
the angel that he is,
lifts his wings and sets to
joy all the hearts
that are his)

and when
the sun then sets
lest we not forget
to give thanks
one more time
for having strived
to live
in rhyme
with time

come and be nonsensical
just once with me
the cards are dealt,
it's our hand
life can live
at our command
take a stand
at your wish,
it would be grand…

Hey, Sunshine girl, just count me in!
Let's deal those cards so we all win!
Let's play it like it should be played
'Cause no one likes to play Old Maid.
There's always one more song to sing,
Some road to travel...bell to ring.
Our lives are filled with poems to write,
Things to fill us with delight...
We cannot find the things we crave
By waiting to embrace the grave
Let's hear the music...dance each dance
Life won't give a second chance
So deal those cards....let's play a hand
The sky's the limit - ain't life grand!?!?!

What a wonderful poem to start the day, sunshine. This one jumps off the page with its optimism and joy. WONDERFUL!!

and you won't believe this but Michael is one of my favorite saints, too!!!...ain't that amazing???

Kit, every once in a while, we need to throw out our arms, spin, and say...wheeeee, see, just like Sven is doing...well, no, Sven spinned another time, now he is woo-hooing...which also needs to be done any time 'Deer starts stacking the deck...

oh my, I'm getting caught up in UP again....

and 'Deer?  GREAT response!  You knew it would make me {~,^}... didn't you?

Deal me in too...
