It’s a strange feeling.

The moment they talked to me,
The feeling told me we were once
So close.
We would’ve been great friends,
Bonds not to be severed.
The sensation of everlasting friendship
Soared in my spirit.

“I’ll see you guys sometimes…”
Why were these words uttered?
Did I Know them?
Would I ever See them again?
Most likely No.

My memory brushed by taking this moment
With it,
Unforgettable.
A gentle handshake and an exchange of smile,
They are gone.

There are moments like that James...yes, there are...

all wrapped up in the touch of a hand...

It's amazing how quickly it can happen...

Excellent poem. . .

Sometimes spirit touches spirit and an instant bond is formed as if you have know each other forever. Such a wonderful feeling when that happens. This was beautiful reading. Thank you so much.

I do believe I've had this happen, but it's such a fleeting thing, it seems I can't really be sure.  But there does seem to be some memory of someone that I'd wished would have remained in my life instead of just passing through.

Hmmmmm, we're all just passing through, though, aren't we.

For a couple of semesters in college, I lived in a dormitory. I had this same feeling while telling some of the wonderful friends I had made there goodbye.  I haven't seen them since.   Nice poem.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments. The poem was about my true feeling, which I didn't want to lose, so I expressed in this half-prose-like poem.

A coupla customers came in the other day, and I chatted with them for a while, then I found they could have been some great friends, I felt pretty sad they were leaving for Australia the very next day..

Thanks again for sharing your feelings with me, at least I know I am not alone.

James, this is a really excellant write from you, I've felt this fleeting almost etheral feeling. Still I'm a great believer in destiny and fate, and whatever will be will be.
Take care
