Tomorrow Wings

So delicate are life’s tomorrow wings
Garnished still in vibrant quills of white
That carry us through winter into spring
And lift us to an undetermined height

We live our days so unaware God’s plan
The future hours for which we can’t prepare
The changing winds and shifting of the sands
Can toss a fragile feather in the air

We soar in freedom flight as spirit sings
Then look into the sudden face of death
So delicate are life’s tomorrow wings
So fine the plume, So frail each living breath

Elizabeth such a beautiful description of the fragility of human life....it seems as if we are so young and vibrant one minute and then chasing the answers to life as we approach the golden years......oh you are so right ...tommorrow wings are so delicate and so vulnerable....but I'm glad they are there to be able to read this excellent poetry that flows into the stream of life from people like yourself to those who need to listen....have a wonderful day dear lady ...and keep sharing your tommorrow wings heart with us...ethome

this is a superb poem, liz, our lives are fragile, and can always surprise ourselves

- James
The beauty of nature is displayed,
not through itself,
but through the creatures
dwelling within its bosom.

How sweet then, sorrow, when we look upon the 'morrow
to know that an angel's wings fly, no longer to be nigh...

Holding you and yours in my prayers...

I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

Life is fragile. Beautifully expressed, Elizabeth. Living moment by moment is the only place peace is found. HUGS

So true sweet poet...so much wisdom in this beautiful poem ...
I have said this before but it will always bear repeating...
you are grace under pressure ...
and as Sun so perfectly said above
your in our thoughts and prayers ...
take care sweet poet
we love you and hold you dear

There are moments ...
when I Love you
beyond the limits of my human heart ...

...you will always be mine.

So fine the plume, so frail each living breath

Very tender write.
We know not what tomorrow holds, but we can  know who holds our tommorrow's. It'a all in his hands, and there is a higher plan.

Balldeer said it so well...(Except for Toerag, who will never change, I've tried, but, as you can see, just ain't gonna happen)..and yes, this is beautiful writing as usual....
