The drums
in my heart
resounded so
violently

Im surprised
you didnt comment on them

Instead you tenderly placed
the ring on
my finger,

staring intently with
firece concentration,
sheepish grin on
your face

Your delightful gesture
made me feel
as if
a warm blanket of tender love
has covered
my trembling soul
protectively

Yet even your blanket
couldnt muffle
those out-of-control
drums in my heart

They wrecked havoc on me
im still surprised
you didnt comment on them

Yes, Kaile, you would think ALL would hear...and if this depicts a real life happening, Best Wishes...

It seems like the whole world should hear those drums when they start up!

Kaile, I had no idea what to expect when I opened this, but it was worth the time to read it.  It is amazing how even those closest to us sometimes don't hear those wild things going on inside us.  Very nice indeed!

Kaile, The drums of a bridegrooms heart? Wow, great prespective of anxiety and commitment all rolled up in a bag of mixed emotions!
Interesting read!

She probably couldn't hear them, unless her hand was feeling the pulse on your wrist. Or unless if you have some telltale signs, like blushing (that's me...) or stuttering...   Thundering heartbeats might not always be heard...
