Jump rope, barefooted in the grass we play
Tea parties and Dress up consume our day,
Hair with ribbons, Bows to tie
Mommys make up we try to apply,
Heels to big, We stumble to walk
Giggles, Smiles, all day talks,
Perfume and powder on the floor
Ragdoll babys we did adore,
Teacups, Teddy bears in the sun
Nothing mattered but best friend fun.

Time goes by and older we grow
Things in life change this we know,
Thoughts and visions of the past
Fade before us ever so fast,
Girls night out gets further apart
Keeping only memories in our heart,
Beginings, changes meant not to be sad
Husbands to wed, Careers to be had,
Day dreaming, closing my eyes I see
Tea parties, dress up, my best friend and me

ethome,
Its much easier thinking about the times of being a child sometimes than it is of the stress of adult life, thanks for the welcome.

but sometimes when we had to play with girls we played doctor. ok, so it wasn't all bad..

A lovely trip back into childhood Shelby, life tends to get more complex as we get older, children dont carry our baggage around, oh to see life through the eyes of a child again. Great poem, thanks for sharing

Shelby...I have a friend, who received a plate with a picture of two little girls, one blonde, one brunette, dressed up for tea, with kittens by their sides, in a room full of flowers...and teacups in their hands...

and this brought that lovely memory, of my friend and I, back to the forefront, as I share in my home, the same plate as I sent to her...
