Fireflies and Buttercups

A thousand fireflies light my night
Shadowing phantoms to my sight.
Buttercup beds and stars overhead
Tie my thoughts with a golden thread.

Greenery drinks the mirrored dew
A mist hides faces from my view.
And the moon shines a full round sail
Shimmering down a ghostly pale.

And the wind moves the leaves in space
The boughs to bend and trees to brace
The sound of night begins to ring
The meadowlark is prone to sing.

And fantasy holds hands with real
To steal the hearts of those that feel.
Heating the elements of dream
To simmer, sound, sense and steam.

A thousand fireflies light this store
To a buttercup and daffodil door.

The delicate rhymework and flow of your poetry always leaves me wonder-wounded and amazed when I read one of your poems. The visions created in this poem are beautiful. Enjoyed much.

Seymour you certainly have a poets way with words.......
"Greenery drinks the mirrored view
A mist hides faces from my view
And the moon shines a full round sail
Shimmering down a ghostly pale."

What can I say written like a true poet...I like your approach ...no tedious ramble but crafted thoughts of beauty tastefully arranged in unique poetic language....good stuff my man ...write on!!

On this day Im grateful for so many things ...
like the smile that reading your rhyme brings
like the dance your cadence does with me
like the contentment felt when drinking in your poetry.

Long ago I pondered
at the way you wander
through light and stream
and bring moonbeam
to the day

play me with your word
let not a day go by
that across the sky is seen
the magic of your pen's stream
when a poem is sung by Sy

I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.
