Listening to every heart

0 posted 2000-11-23 09:57 AM

I heard your tender call

it resounded, silently, quietly, softly
soulfully, skillfully, it sounded in my heart
behind closed eyes I heard soft cry
a mind meld of thoughts to impart

I felt your tender call

you were there, so long ago, a heartbeat away
in keen memory your words still sway
and dance the dance of night's long song
wherein these dreams your thoughts belong

did I dream your tender call

behind the veil of night's sweet shadow soft
holding tender, tender in the touch
then wing me upward and hold me aloft
the tender call is the voice of such

I heard your tender call

it sang soft, veritably soulfully sweet, and true
as it came from the heart's heart of you
and most delicately it came from behind the refrain
that I would hear it again and again

when you tenderly called my name
