There is a spread before me
and nothing do I see
no morsel tender whets my lips
I'm starving, at a feast.

Each one beckons, calling
for me to dip my spoon...
and I sit with empty plate,
a victim of too soon.

To weep at time
of gratitude
bespeaks my
sorry attitude,

and regret of
my lament
and all the labor
I have spent--

I dream of just
a drop of wine
my eyes are vague
they travel time...

to wonder where you are...

Excellent idea Serenity, reminds me of "water water everywhere but not a drop to drink", I'm sure when the time is right you will find a mouthwatering morsal to tuck in to  . Wonderfully written, I enjoyed it.

Regards,
Olias.

it is so hard to enjoy live when your heart is not there...

but my, you do provide inspiration...

There is all this food set before you
But nothing to sink your teeth into
All of this to drink
But nothing to your taste, you think

How do I put this gently
That what you search for so intently
To satify that for which you long
Has been sitting beside you all along

I have often found that what I am most intently looking for has been by my side all along.  I was just neglected to look in the most obvious place.  Right beside me.
