One For....

As I awake and it's quarter past two,
all's peaceful except for my thoughts.
Filled, once again, my mind holding words
of the last time, the feelings, touch brought.

Wondering what, at this very moment,
you are doing in your dreams.
Knowing what...I would be doing
if together, woven our seams.

One for the road, this poem of mine,
blood shot eyes filled with drink.
No liquor, just words that I've sipped up 'til now,
into dreams, I shall once again sink.

To float upon darkness, with a light up ahead,
drawing me towards it, to guide.
A glimpse of tomorrow, leaving yesterday behind,
a today filled with happiness, applied.

I promise myself, this to be true
and now I return to my sleep.
Knowing you'll see, these words of mine,
as I take you back into my deep.

Dreams, shall hold tight to, a face on my mind,
eyes to behold, tenderly.
Fingers that gently caress cheeks of mine,
I'm arrested, you're jailed in with me.

Tomorrow will enter my thoughts of the now
and the road will be smoother ahead.
I shall return from my fantasy trip,
each morn, as my darkness, I shed...

Wynter* This is beautiful...so bittersweet
and loving...filled with the longing that
lays softly within our hearts and dreams...

Wondering what, at this very moment,

this stanza just reached out to me and
pulled me even deeper within your words...
