Where's My Youth Gone.

~~Daniel J D~~

Sometimes I remember
A few moments of my life
When I got into strife
I also remember
Times of play and fun
Out in the rain or the sun

Now I often wonder
Where has it all gone?
Where has my youth gone?
Am I in this world alone?
Does anyone hear my ponder?

I have lost my youth
Please bring it back, to soothe
I call upon all who shared the days
Nights, moments and plays
It was mine, and I lost it all
What am I to do if no one answers my call?

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Ahhhh Daniel...you make me feel old...lol
and of course everytime I "think" I'm young
my children remind me by asking if I ever
had pet dinosaurs   Seriously though this
is excellent penning...you dove deeply to
the emotions of "where has the time gone"
and brought me along for the ride~

Butterflies,
I thank you very much. You would think that at 46 I would remember where I left it.

Daniel,
Tis gone into the making of a stronger and educated beingness- and into the making of vivid memories that you can look back upon which you express beautifully in the words of this poem and everyone is always entering a new "youth" -always one of a new phase in life...we all ought to feel fresh to every new one its never fully gone and there's always a new one to come. Your poems have been so sad lately. Hope things will come together and be well for you...  This was excellently written and expressed.

Take care always,

   ah yes...youth..i vaguely remember that..lol.
i really like this one, Daniel; and
it reminds me of one of my favorite
   quotes...

old; you grow old because you stop laughing.'
~Michael Pritchard in 'The Power of Choice'

   enjoyed this one much...

Serenity,
Comprehending the serenade of our youth can be very difficult. I do appreciate what you said, and I agree with you.

Poetminister, vlraynes,
Thank you both for the excellent words of encouragement you continually give. In answer to your comment Poetm, yes they have been rather sad lately and there are many reasons for that.

Daniel, the eloquence with which you express your reflection and the need to touch into your past is admirable. Very nicely written, to my way of thinking.

Meadowmuse,
Thank you very much for your wonderful reply. We all at times search deep and thoroughly for those youthful days where innocence was ours to treasure.

Tony,
Thank you kindly for your comment. Looking back on our youth is very important, we need  to find ourselves.
