Sixty-nine minutes was all it took
to know my love for you
just over an hour and no second look
to feel that our love would be true

Sixty-nine moments where time stood still
the stars in the skies stopped as well
the moon in romance dipped its night quill,
and gave us a night filled by spell

Sixty-nine memories from your first kiss
an omen of love blossomed forth
the tingling caress that filled me with bliss
the voice of my folks in great wroth

Sixty nine years together we stayed
each moment a lesson in care
right up to the day, when you went away
at your picture, I now stop and stare

Sixty-nine sighs each moment in time
remind me that you've gone so far
and silvery moonbeams, oh so sublime
dance out my tears with the stars

Sixty-nine million thoughts of our love
to warm me on cold winter nights
although you're residing in heaven above
I feel you so near … stay my knight.

Shame on all of you who thought this would need to be moved to adult.

Brought tears to my eyes.....and a smile with your last comment......expressed with a tender gentleness.  Outstanding........

How beautiful! (And how lucky to have 69 years with such a love!)

Okay, okay... *G* I'd better hush before I start speculating.... Nan's still got an eraser around here! LOL

Kethry, this is wonderful, it brought tears and joy. (As for the adult bit, flutters eyelashes and asks in innocence, why?) It's no good, you know I'm not that innocent, I know. This is another of your priceless gems, I really love this one.
Take care

I apologize for my thoughts. Just simply thought you were still trying to make Balladeer smile.
The poem was beautiful.

K, this is so special and touching. And I just have to comment on one other thing, I think your choice of a quote (and author) is perfect. I miss seeing Rex at the forums

Well, inot2B, she DID make Balladeer smile! I am not going to comment on this clever little thing because I know my limitations and I would never get through it without being banished to the realm of Toerag!!!
