The Date, Ten Years Later Ten years ago on this day you took me on a date, it was that night I realized just how much love truly does rate. Can you imagine my suprise when I turned to stare into those same eyes? Same restaraunt, same faces, same patrons in their usual places. There you were standing once again, my memories flooding back to the night my heart you did win. You just stood there with that nonchalant little smile- me contemplating vengance all the while. You asked the usual questions you had your stories to tell, and my heart delighted when I finally could tell you to go to hell!! On the wings of words our spirits fly, and our souls are free. ~me~ |

I just knew it was going to be something like that....and wow! you got the chance to tell him to seek warmth at mystic depths from which he would never return...should be glad you did'nt have anything to do with him... because every ten years is just too long between lovemaking sessions you know...just kiddin!! You wouldn't have been happy... great idea and you wrote it well ..write ya later...ethome.... |

ethome, this was a fun poem to write. I wrote the first part with just the idea of how young love all to often is, and then the second part just came later because it just felt like there needed to be some closure to it. Wonderful way to close this little story of yours. You not only gave it closure but you gave alot for all to think about when rushing into something that so often leads to heartache. I applaud you on your weave of such a story of life. |
