"Shadow's Shore"

Along this terrace of the night
I breathe, alive, and linger, sane
and think upon each struggle, wild,
'twas fought to offer soul's regain

For preservation battles forth
along this road to reverie
to keep one's mind from grim remorse
a castaway 'pon swirling sea

As on the edge of wave's release
I veer by moonlight's maiden moan
the sands, illumined, tempt and tease
and bid me feed its frothy foam

But I, enswayed toward the blue
continue with deliberate stride
and curse the moon's magnetic hue,
its shadow's shore of coincide

For though I falter from the pull
I cannot grant submission's sin
beyond the waves my heart is full
as I prepare to breathe again

Mattster, hello and welcome to Passions. I've not been around much for awhile so please forgive my late arrival to say hello. Thank you for reading this piece and letting me know you enjoyed it.

Kethry, thank you. The trick is to "keep" breathing, I'm sure. Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts.

Mark, hello. Thank you for reading and for the kind words. Just a poem.

Rainydays,

Nice imagery and well written piece.

You must be reading my mind, my thoughts, so glorious to read another's feelings and feel your own in those.  Loved it.

Tiersdin, thank you very much for letting me know you enjoyed.

Hi Sven, yes, it's a struggle, but so worth it when you realize you can pull away from the waves. Thanks, friend.

Tony,  thanks. Have you read my "He" inspired by your "She" yet? Thanks for sharing that beautiful poem here and for the subsequent inspiration.

Lonewolf, thanks very much for reading. Glad you liked.

Irish Rose, thank you so much for letting me know this piece moved you. Yes, isn't it remarkable to read your own thoughts in a poem that you've not composed? I love when that happens.  Thanks again!

WOW...intense...loved the imagery and the 'walk toward life'. I agree with Sven, everyone takes that walk at one time or another.

Rainy, I like the flow in the poem and the way the reader travels through the path of beauty in words that you weaved...

Great write
