Day’s Begin
Virginia Salter

Day begins
with deep mauve glow
above horizon,

Slim contrast
to silhouettes of trees,
rooftops,
pole.

Two
small,
brilliant lights
fight their way
into fading
darkness,

as if
a candle’s glow
for loved-one
too long away.

I watch
wonder
as they beckon
the wayfarer
in early
dawn.

“What
light through
yonder window
breaks?

Ah,
Juliet
it is the sun...”

comes to mind,
though fleeting,
for sun’s not found
its path to me, yet,
this day
as gray overcomes
the dawn.

Very nice piece! Enjoyed it very much, with great imagery and the sudden touch of sadness on the end.

With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free..

Thanks, dragonpoe!  Daylight has arrived now, but not the sun.  Sky is all gray, soft gray, not quite like a 'snow promising' sky.  I'm off to substitute teach soon, so thanks for stopping in on my post.

What Course To Take
The East To West So Done

A Friars Kitchen Would Call
"Our Humble Feast Late" Not Underdone

The Stacking Of Static MindsReach
Corralled In Praise and SelfAdheranceNumb

Lifts Thine Eyes To Where That Called God
Shines Lifts Breathes Aglow Your Defintion

Omnipotenet Omnipresecsnt All Encompssing
HOw IS It You Reach
When Your BodySoul
Is His Own

I only wondering
As is my wont

And Daring to express
A Simple question
SO many so so many
Condemn as Ignorance

Or Worse
Denial Of Latin
Prefer/Knowing English
The Bible Teaches, I understand

Tolerance
Please Show Me
Please I Know Those In Need
The TolerantSpirituality You Preach

And The Days
That They Linger
They Are Nothing
To You At All
Yet You Remain

And The Song That Is Soul It Reaches Defiant Giving It In And Give

Dream Seeker,

I'm confused.  Here you have placed two wonderful poems and if they are a response to my little 'thing' here, I've missed it.

I'd like to encourage you to post them where others will know of their existence.

If they are a response to my poem, post them as new anyway, and then explain to this brain of mine that is feeling very feeble at the moment.
