~ Winter Desire~

Birds on a wire lose their desire to forcast winter weather
rather preferring, to snuggle with feathery covers
trusting the Lord knows best when it's time to rest

The cold north wind is a refreshing bite
lips shiver and quiver, as I try to speak
teeth chatter while inhaling glorious scents of pine

Snowflakes fall, leaving twinkles of lights upon rosey cheeks
a warm kiss leaves winter desire's to glow

A cup of hot cider will feel good going down
ahhhh... it's winter

How about a nice snowball fight?

I love a bit of a chill in the air but I never look forward to that snow...unless it's the weekend and I can stay home! I enjoyed your poem!

Loved the poem and really loved the ending.  Now how good would you be in a snowball fight with so little practice down there in the south?  One way to find out.  There is promise of snow here real soon.  Far cry from Texas thank the lord.

Mark~ Hello! Good to see you in the poetry world.
ahhhhh, the promise of snow! How delightful for you. I am  sure the snowbirds may not agree with me, but hey what can I say, I am from Florida!
Thanks for your reply.
