she reminds us of a quieter time
a time when Lords and Ladies ruled the land
when Poets and Minstrels sang songs of love
and Knights and Damsels lived and loved forever

her words are quiet and genteel
her rhymes soft and tender
her verses touch our heart

the land that she takes us to
is not one of her own creation
it exists in all of us
she is merely our guide
we knock at the door and she answers
showing us the way

she smiles, and the world is a brighter place
she laughs, and we feel her happiness in us
she sighs, and we share her contentedness

and we are at peace

I don't really know everyone that you've been showing here.  But I'm sure that they must be very special.

Oh my. Oh dear. Sven, what have you done, my friend? I am so moved by this gesture. I had no idea when I clicked on the link in my e'mail that THIS is what I was to find. My friends, I am quite speechless at the moment, a few tears, so very moved. What a lovely, lovely poem, Sven. And what sweet and sincere responses. Please forgive my lack of eloquence, I am just so touched. Thank you, Sven. Thank you all.

I will share with you all something I reecently wrote. Much thanks to M.A. Miller for the image design. The painting is "Memory" by Elihu Vedder. Hope you enjoy it.

I didn't realize that editing can only be done within 24 hours of the original post, Sven, so I couldn't edit my previous message, but here is what I wanted to share with you. ~ Claire

To see the haunting painting by Elihu Vedder that inspired this poem, please go HERE.

Untitled

In the moments
of receding from the memory
of this life I will believe
that the tears dissolved
and breaths I've drawn
were meant as only fog
so do not grieve.

And I will look
upon the theatre of the sea
in anguished awe,
in hushed aware,
its vastness fully brought
to only me and I am there,
I am there.

This is a wonderful tribute to a great and dear friend and captures so well what she is to all who know her.  You've done well, my friend.

Sven,
What a beautiful work of art. The Knights and the Minstrels would be proud of you!  This belongs in a library for all to treasure.
        Much Love,  Elise
