you apparel your tears

like wings on torn cardboard hearts
many times I’ve been hurt deeply of the
things you oft had impart to my knees I
bent when first I heard your sweet

laments who was it that
introduced us do I
know them or
was there

some
thing
meant

Sorry, thought
I missed something

I love the imagery of those injured, ragged hearts raising frail wings of tears like a mangled bird trying to fly.  I wonder, could the strength of those wings heal, to lift those hearts to comfort?

And, meetings ARE something meant (I believe) - and no, you certainly don't miss a thing...
