Here I sit
High in this old scraggly tree
I watch the chipmunk below me
Scampering to and fro
With no particular place to go
Stopping once in awhile to chatter
Then going thru the leaves with such a clatter
Then he is gone, no where to be found
Then I see the shadow over me
Oh…. woe is me
For I am flying thru the air
With the greatest of ease
For a falcon has gotten me

Alan:  I've been reading your generous comments on other poets all day - how nice to read one of yours now - I did enjoy it and hope to read some more soon!   Roniece

I'm going to date myself but I just can't help it!

"With no particular place to go"

I loved this line, reminded me of Chuck Berry!

"When red-haired girls scamper like roses
over the rain-green grass,
and the sun drips honey.""

A very interesting, different, original and clever ending, Alan.
