the words are living proof that sometimes
first impressions can be wrong
because when you read them
you can feel the love
you can feel the warmth
but you can also feel the pain
and you marvel that a heart can open again

from a world that was once only prose
come gentle words of poetry
words from his healing heart
they speak to your mind
they speak to your heart
but they also speak to your soul
and you wonder why you don't see them first

the words continue to flow to the river
winding through gentle currents
coming through the rapids
back to the calm
back to the quietness
back once again to the wonder
and you can see what comes from behind the unreasoning mask

Poetry really is healing.  I didn't expect this one, Sven, I'm impressed.

Sven-

as the rest of your series in your
Passions Gallery, this is superb. You
have captured Chris quite well. I am
sure he will be as pleased to read this
as I was. Great work, but then again I've
come to expect nothing short of spectacular
from you.

Coco, thank you for stopping by. . .

Kethry, thank you my friend. . .

Sunshine, now, that's an intersting wish. . . thank you. . .

dreamkeeper, thank you for reading. . .

Kathleen, I'm full of surprises aren't I?  Thank you my friend. . .

Amy, thank you. . . I hope that I've done justice to the subject and his words. . .

serenity, I knew that you would have something to say   . . . and I'm glad. . . thank you. . .

Kit, thanks. . . glad that you enjoyed. . .

And now, a word about the title, "from behind the unreasoning mask" is the title of a piece of music by the Avant-garde American composer Roger Reynolds.  It's used here to illustrate that even though what we see on the surface may seem bad, it's what's "behind the unreasoning mask" that makes the difference. . . thank you

This is a great tribute to the Passions clown!   Chris is a great guy and a great writer who perfects anything he attempts. This is also a great testiment of how reading someones writing can totally change how you feel about them. Thanks for sharing.

I admire the way you can portray the person behind the poetry!  It encourages me to read between the lines and ponder each persons words...

thought provoking poem...

...the handsome smiling accomodating face is far more "unreliable" than the "unreasoning mask" ...no?  like i say sven, thought provoking, well written and i truly marvel at your ability to see good in all .....

well done indeed my friend a memorable addition to the gallery

I think this is the best of your Passions Gallery so far Sven.
Not only does it capture Chris in a way that I see him,
you've done a fine job with your words.
I'm also pleased to see that even after the small bit
of turmoil betweenthe two of you....
you chose to write this anyway!

Well done Sir!
