You take pen in hand
and I sigh.

Holding my breath
you know why.

The words you cannot
say to me

Come from your pen
most eloquently.

I wait to read
words you never speak

Words that thrill me
and leave me weak

Your truth is pure
your soul sublime

I hunger for each
loving rhyme

And though our bodies
never meet

I’ve felt your touch
in your words, my sweet.

Sharon I hear you and I feel this piece extremely well. I would say hang in there but I know that you like to write from the perspective of the onlooker. Good write!

Sometimes words touch us in a way no physical touch can, Sharon.  This was a beautiful reminder.

Thank you all for you kind words. This is simple - we do touch each others lives with our words. You've touched mine and I'm so grateful for that.

This is so beautiful... I love to open your poems... I never know whether I'll be laughing or crying or just sitting in wonder when I finish... but I know I'll have been touched by the pen of a master! *S*

Ah devine one...this needed to see the light of night again...oh so true...

and who is it we write for...the male, the female...all or just ourselves...

and will we ever really know how we might have touched someone...
