Sitting here in the middle of the night,
I wish you were by my side;
You may not remember it,
but to me the memory is sweet;
On 18th of May, Y2K,
I was angry at someone that day;
I needed someone to talk to,
and that someone turned out to be you;
You are the only person who understood my feelings,
all the while that we were talking;
What i am feeling is probably puppy love,
but to my heart, it's real enough;
It does not matter what happens in the future;
but right now, i wish we're together

This is my first attempt at writing poetry...i hope you like it

There's something very sweet and pure in your words, it was nice to read such feelings that most of us have experienced. I think you're well on your way to writing good poetry, especially with help from the moderators here...

its nerve-wrecking to post your poems when you are just starting out and i admire your courage to do so...

you expressed those sentiments of longing and love well....keep writing and keep posting
