We met each other today
It was to be
a joyous occasion

You avoided my eyes,
preferring to stare at
the cigarette
in your hand
instead

Perhaps i shouldnt have been
so happy
after all

kaile-
   OUCH!!
   it hurts when friendships fade
   or become one-sided...it's such
a shame, but it does happen.
   you've expressed it well, and
   in very few words...great job

   hugs to you,

The eyes will always give it away, won't they.   You give just enough detail to give depth while still holding to a minimalist style.  Excellent!

Kaile~

The joy is in giving ...
It doesn't always shine in another's eyes.
But happy can't be taken away,
as it is a gift we give ourselves.

Diminished Friendship Sequel:
Email Poison

My dispirited eyes lit up
A fresh sugary surge
of energy
welled up my body

Why, you never bothered
to reply my mails
A mail from you
is sweet treasure indeed

Hell, my hand even shook
when i opened your message
Oh, what a delightful surprise
in wait for me!

It shook even harder
when the downcast eyes read:
I have a favour to ask
You will help, wont you

A puppet, i am,
waiting for its master
to dangle the strings
so that it may dance a bit

You know I love your short, powerful way of writing, and this is no exception. All the feel is there, and so well written.

The only thing that would hurt more is when someone is glancing at their wristwatch and you know....you just know.  Enjoyed this, short and to the point and said so much.

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life.

Kaile, seems as if somehow your friendship with this person has some gap in between. Could it be you haven't met in a long time, and now both of you have changed?
