Never been on a blind date before
So I thought I should try it out
Wanted to maybe find a new friend
And see what it all was about
So my friend picked you to date me
Out of all the rest
But I guess what she was thinking
Wasn't really for the best
We had fun at the restaurant
I thought it was so nice that you paid
But I would've picked up the tab
If I would've known you were looking to get laid
Back at the house we started kissing
Your tongue was running along my mouth
I was really getting into it
Until you started heading south
And I pushed you away and said,
"Stop! That's a violation of my body!"
And it was so hard for me to say
Because you were such a hottie
But I guess you had earwax build-up
You just wouldn't quit
Tears started rolling as I shouted,
"Stop!" and "I mean it!"
I looked down to see your hands
And my pants coming undone
Grabbing the buttons on my shirt
And undoing them one-by-one
It was all over in a few minutes
Minutes that felt like eternity
Didn't you realize that was date rape
When you were doing that to me?
I wish you would've listened
When I said, "NO!"
Put up my red light, but you saw green
And thought that it meant, "Go"
And my friend felt so bad
That she had set me up with you
I said that maybe I should've been more assertive
But she said, "Girl, you shouldn't have to."
A guy should never expect anything
Just because he buys you dinner
And just because he's good-looking
Doesn't make him a winner
And no matter how many times you say, "No"
There will always be one guy who doesn't hear
So be careful what you get yourself into
And always keep that fear

This is a topic that should be high on the awareness list!!!   If this is personal for you, I hope you've gotten some help with this; counseling is always a good thing...

Take care, Pepper

Powerful message, and a painful reminder to anyone who has experienced it.  I can only hope that this isn't a true story. Still, it's a good "heads up" to us all...

I know if I were you he would'nt get away with that without going through some serious legal action....a kiss is a kiss but beyond that has to be totally consensual...if this in fact happened to you then I'd do something about it...if it's just a warning message I understand and you should be commended for bringing the subject to the fore and putting it in writing....it happens all the time and it definitely shouldn't!!  Great to read your work!!...take care ....ethome.......

If he's so good looking, he should really do well in prison.

No should always mean NO...
and one should always be
very careful to try and
avoid the situation where
they are put into this
situation...a tragedy that
things like this occur...
my heart felt pain for
circumstances leading to
this poem~
