... Daddy listen...um...listen
You and mommy should
Well come with me

Why little girl
Cant you see I’m thinking

Daddy come on, you and mommy
Need to come and listen
I need to tell you something

What is it my girl

I want to tell you something
So you won’t be mad

I’m not mad little girl

When you were talking loud with mommy...

Oh little girl come here
I wasn’t mad at your mommy
We were talking our problems out

Daddy come and um give mommy a hug
And then I’ll tell the both of you something

Okay little girl... Okay...

Husband of mine

Yes wife?

Come here

But wife of mine our little girl has...

Come here you

I want to tell you
You are a handsome man
And I love you
Let’s talk quieter
After a kiss

Wife of mine I’m smiling
Thank you for the kiss
I love you too now little girl
Has something to tell us both

But husband of mine she’s not around

That’s funny where’d she go

(...mommy...listen...um...listen
I want you to tell daddy something
I want you to tell him he’s cute
That you love him and give him
A great big kiss ok mommy?
That’s what I want you to do)

Out of the mouth of babies. How scared they get when the ones they love are out of sorts with each other. Children are beautiful!!!!

sometimes it'd be nice to hear with their ears wouldn't it?  Very nicely done.

i love the way in which this is written. exquisitely, and innocently. a sense of naivete there.

Very nice!!  I, like the little girl, was afraid of where this was going.  I'm so happy for the happy ending and I hope it always happens that way for this family.

Walt~
This just touches tender ...
such a wonderful innocence to it ...
and what a lesson to be learned.
