I travail, by this stream alone
overcome by shame, with heart of stone
do this one thing, for all else atone
the river and I, together moan

I take the tattered thread of pride
and shape the shattered shreds inside
from the taunting world, forever hide
While the river softly sighed

My thoughts decrease in disparate rings
No escape, no hope for wings
No optimism in purged out things
As, just the river slowly sings

My life is bleeding out my eyes
betrayal of trust, and only lies
the duty of must, negates my despise
When the river coolly cries

I turn away, my grieving is done
holding my life,  turned into stone
clutching life's ashes away from the sun
The river burbles, uncaring, alone.

This is quite well done, Kethry... The river does keep on flowing where ever we happen to meet its banks - It'll just pass on by us if we don't pay attention... I like this piece..

Kethry, this is such a brilliant write from you. Utterly glittering like the sun on the river this shines. I love it, I know when don't I, but it's always true I do. Beauty that you write always captures my soul.
Take care

The style of write here is captivating and the choice of words used blended so well it leaves an image in the thoughts of a reader...
