I'm doing fourteen things at once. It's such a joyous life
I'm homemaking on a farm, where jobs are ever rife
a little of this a bit of that
wax the paper, drink some cat
dust the dishes, throw the dog out
it makes me want to scream and shout
make the baby wash the bed
all these things go round my head
sweep the washing on a cove
scrub the parrot, oil the stove
milk the pots and weed the lice
dry the dandruff, feed the mice
catch the polish, fold the corn
all these tasks go on and on
light the husband, bore the grill
of all these things, I've had my fill
I have worked from son to son
thank goodness tasks are nearly done
Oh no! oh no! It's five am
time to do it all again

Thank goodness you're not the farmer's wife...when would you get a chance to write such fun poems?   Keep them coming!!!

Tiersdin,
thanks for the response and I glad my poem didn't confuse you.

Pepper,
what would I do without your positive comments.... Sink like a stone I'm sure.

Vicky,
I'm glad it got you laughing

Debbie,
my sister's a farmer's wife does that count for anything. Although she's one of the worlds most amazingly organised people not like me.

Be well

Could I just take you out to dinner? You know the candlelight type, chilled bottle of wine, your choice of anything on the menu, soft music, and just talk about all the things you love aside from the being a wife. My intentions are strictly honorable! Maybe we could learn from each other..if nothing else we could discuss our common passion...poetry!

Tell your husband I'll have you back before that clock strikes midnight in Canada...he he..whoops!

ethome,
I don't have a husband. I wore him out, all those candlelight dinners you know, or maybe it was the way I'd light him everyday.

Well if that's the case you're in a lot of trouble now aren't you...I don't have to have you home at any certain hour.....I must admit though...the way you word that..or it was it the way I'd light hime every day...now that scares the living heck right out of me!!
