A Melody in My Soul…

As I peek through the window
that has been offered by your eyes,
I long to take the journey to your very core.
After following a well traveled path
I come upon a bastion around your heart,
impenetrable,
just as it had been bequeathed
by the many others before me

Wanting so to reach beyond these walls,
my heart projects out a sweet song of devotion.
As the melody is true to my soul’s desire,
I can do little more than hold hope
that the power of this aria will pervade.
And I, unlike the others, will be gifted with
the heart of you in my heart’s embrace…

A Whisper's caress,
Very lovely poem.  Such strong melodies will break down the most extensive fortifications.  Nicely written.
