Sweetness…
I hope you feel the same
Because Sweetness…
I hope to win your name
At the dance when we first kissed
That’s the time I reminisce

It was pure poetry…
It was sheer divine
Like the times
When you are there
And I am here
But we are two
In this poet’s heart of mine…

I can’t say its magic though
I sure like to think it’s so
There’s a place to hold me dear
I’d just like a souvenir
That simply tells me you were here
When we must be apart…
Life is all imaginings
Butterfly strokes
Of bigger things
So please sweetness
Sweet ease the butterflies
In my heart…

The tune they played was
Three-part
Harmony
Your eyes, your lips,
Your glowing face
But the dance we danced
Was more to me
I’m pleased to know
I can’t erase

There the lovely daffodils
Line the dance hall windowsills
But the flower of my heart is you
Sweetness say your dreams come true

Dance with me into the night
Where the stars are shining bright
The dance floor has melted into bliss
So hurry one last chance to kiss

One last chance to feel the rhyme
The record scratches, turn back time

This is grand...reminiscent of the old romantic standards, sweetly sentimental and just the least bit wistful. ("Sweetness"...I've always loved that endearment)

Lovely, Walt.

I am not even going to
read the replies until
I've let you know that
this is so tenderly sweet,
so winsome and charming...
and all I can utter is a soft
wow
and a small thank you...

I love it...
