It feels like an eternity
Since I have felt the touch
Of your warm gentle hands
Comforting me in the velvet night

It feels like a lifetime
Since I’ve felt your breath
As your soft whisper
Tells me sweetly of your love

It feels like a century
Since I’ve felt your arms
Holding me close to you
Feeling the warmth of your heart

It feels like the hands of time
Has passed us both by
To rekindle the flame of love
That used to burn stronng in our hearts.

It feels like an eternity
To live here without you
Standing by next to me
Abandoned by your promised love.

The longing and the pain come through strongly; such a poignantly beautiful and stirring write!!!  Time surely seems to drag on endlessly when in the midst of heartbreak.
