While the wind touches only the surface,
The cream-colored curtains
Remain, as virgins,
Nerveless.
The silence floods with submergence
The whispering servants
As the morning light surges
And softens
Your sealed heavy eyelids, my gorgeous.
The sunrise then coarsens
And makes porous
The forest,
Where birds, in a heavenly chorus,
Following orders,
Praise you, Dolores.
Their verses
Fall short of your doorsteps,
And mirthless
And nervous,
They wander like pilgrims and orphans,
Without a home or a purpose.
