 Mama....where do butterflies go when they die When their wings break and they can no longer fly Do they go to heaven or do they simply blow away As much as I want them to...they never ever stay Sweet child come close and settle next to me I will tell you where Butterflies go to be free They are sent to us as caterpillars...chained upon the ground No color to adorn them..no happiness to be found They dream each night of a land free from shame They awake each morning looking just the same When they cannot possibly take anymore heartache They shed a final tear and they feel their soul break That one tear weaves them a silken womb Within this shell it’s true beauty will bloom When it’s ready to share all that it has learned The dull caterpillar to exquisite butterfly will be turned It fills the sky with color and grace in flight And brings to you and I the beauty of it’s sight It’s not proud nor does it boast..for it knows where it came The quest of it’s flight is to find another heart just the same When that person is found...it lands upon his soul And kisses him with it’s Butterfly wings...making him whole That is when the Butterfly is free...to sing with a heavenly chime It’s spirit living in the dreams of a human caterpillar this time Mama...how do you know so much about this Butterfly you speak How do you know why it flies and what it does seek Sweet child...look into my eyes and hear as I tell you how A Butterfly once kissed my heart...His spirit lives within me now As I rested upon this hill without hope or a dream to chase I awoke to the caress of Butterfly kisses upon my face A light was placed within my heart and the dreams returned to me I heard the sweetest voice sing....“Butterflies are meant to be Free” [This message has been edited by Butterflies_dont_cry (edited 11-13-2000).] |

Holly my soul sis... I am at a loss here...I am so touched by this and in the last week I have seen his light shine in this place thru more poets than I can count...in their accepting replies on my poems...their gifts of song verses and beautiful poems inspired by my words of him... and I have not forgotten the first butterfly poem you wrote for me... this one proves with out a doubt .. we live in the light ... I cant even put in to words the things I see and feel in this poem.. and I know you too "just know" this one is sent via angels ... thank you my sweet friend... too little to say again.. but you already KNOW love you me ************* ~Butterfly~ by Mariah Carey When you love someone so deeply They become your life It's easy to succumb to overwhemling fears inside Blindly I imagined I could Keep you under glass Now I understand to hold you, I must open up my hands And watch you rise Spread your wings and prepare to fly For you have become a butterfly Fly abandonedly into the sun If you should return to me We truly were meant to be So spread your wings and fly Butterfly I have learned that beauty Has to flourish in the light Wild horses run unbridled Or their spirit dies You have given me the courage To be all that I can And truly feel your heart will Lead you back to me when your Ready to land I can't pretend these tears Aren't overflowing steadily I can't prevent this hurt from Almost over taking me But I will stand and say goodbye For you'll never be mine Until you know the way it feels to fly ****** Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme, They are not measured by the commitment of time. Some emotions run too deep to be described by words, Forgiveness and understanding ... remain the most beautiful words ever heard. Holly, I have said it a thousand times and I will reinforce it now.....YOUR HEART IS GOLDEN!! This is the MOST loving poem and most sincere show of friendship that you or anyone else has ever written that I have had the pleasure to read. Not only do I get to enjoy the read but I have the knowledge of the whole story behind it and that gives me the license to say all that I have said and know it to be true. Yeah, you know I know and so does and certain "show-me" state girlie girl with that squeaky morning voice.  I bow to you and your heart and theheavenly way that you find to touch hearts in ways that you have yet to realize. HHHmmmm...now would that be the same as saying that you have power over those that come to know you? Well, don't look to us to confirm that one, we do still want to be able to talk to you on the ground ya know. |

Butterfly, how lovely a poem you have written... There's really not much else one can say that has not already been expressed just to let ya know I love this one... A KEEPER4ME SWEETIE PS: this poem is one that I would like to print out and read to lil one (it's just beautiful in every way) and in case you didn't know lil one has a thingie for butterflies and ladybugs so it will bring her much pleasure to have this as a read...
