The Magician asked for a volunteer
From all of us watching in the sea
Really He knew I was waiting here
And from the beginning His eyes on me

Swallowing my fears I charged the stairs
The Great Magician unveiling his plan
As I looked upon the device with care
I was not upbeat as when I'd began

Doubts were swirling like the smoke surrounding
Then a box was rolled to the staging floor
At this frightful site my heart was pounding
And my eyes were trained on the exit door

Then I felt promise wash my body clean
And the box was sealed with my soul inside
The crowd was hush and not a doubter seen
Soon after that I was taking my bride

Smoke swirling we jumped clear of the box
It was now us but my soul was fulfilled
I’d busted the chains and broken the locks
And thanked God the Magician, His will.

Walt,
Wonderful imagery. At first I wasn't sure where the verse would go, but you've created such as stunning ending that brings every line together. A lovely read, thank you.

Way,
Well done, the magic of your words into poetry is quite remarkable.

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

Muchly enjoyed the imagery here. Nicely written.
