Since eighty four
The day's been called
Veteran's day by all
War has not been stalled

In the eleventh month,
Eleventh day, at the eleventh hour
An armistice was signed
An end to settle scores
The war to end all wars

They chose the wrong word
Truce would be no better choice
For armistice is temporary
Temporary it has been
Peacemakers had no voice

What will it take
To end the hate
To end the greedy speak
Cease the envy teach
'Turn the other cheek'?

War's more fearsome now
More deadly too
We've much more to rue
So let's have an end to armistice
So we'll see clear skies of blue

We'll have an end to war
So if our leaders want a fight
We'll offer 15 rounds
Offer them a leader's bout
We'll end it in a night.

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

If only right..good idea..

Wilfred I don't think we would stand a chance...Clinton is so busy checking out the women that he has little time for physical conditioning...or perhaps he could have a female Karate instructor...no that didn't work with Priscilla Presley...she fell in Love with her instructor...hard to keep your mind on sparing when your embracing...looks like Bruce Lee would have made a pretty good President if fighting skills are required...James

Wil,
peace eternally, your wish is my wish, that peace shall remain and hope retain, but fleeting peace brings no release for those damaged by war. While the government with each hour seeks to gain more awesome power than they have had before.

My grandfather's twin brother was killed while they were serving with Canadian forces in France in that "War to end all Wars".  They likely fought against distant relatives, as they came from a German settlement in Nova Scotia.  As appealing as your proposal sounds,   fighting never has been a good solution to anything.  Still, I am glad to see you honoring those who sacrificed everything to preserve what was best in the world.  Thank you.

Perfect solution. IF the leaders of the super powers want war, put them in a room and let 'em duke it out!!!
