Copious Rain

Passion, it swarms as the froth
of an ocean's language --
spelling its tide along the beach
of want and need.

And as the sand absorbs its life,
so do I -- sponging with each breath --
swallow the gems she lays upon my shore.

From the life in her tears -- copious drops
of rain from the heart's cloud -- I know both
sorrow and joy.
Without her -- life has no definition,
the sun appears as a glare only hindering
my sight.
With her -- the sun warms each cord,
composing a song of clarity.
Each day birthing a vision of gold bands,
their weight never overbearing --
their chain never tarnished.

I enjoyed this piece. Water, in all its elemental forms (ocean, rain, tears, dew, etc.) has long been a source of inspiration for metaphorical poetry of love and restoration of life. You've employed it eloquently in this impressive poem. Very sweet writing.  Thank you ~
