"House of Lies" Lost little girl, scared and afraid Living with a pain she has endured her whole life It's bad enough other people stare But the rejection of her own mother cuts like a knife Violence has become a part of her everyday life As she cries trying to figure out what to do Sadness overwhelms her as she starts to give up hope Her body not the only thing black and blue A house full of lies is what she lives in Fake smiles all around, but no knows within those walls what's being done Screaming and yelling a daily routine As her mother now picks up a gun Little girl grows up turning into a beautiful woman But nothing has really changed The same pain and lies continue Things pretty much remain the same Her mother contemplates suicide knowing she has now lost control But the same things that use to work before no longer She has learned to cope with life easier And the love she has found has made her stronger But still the pain tears at her every moment As the truth hits hard and cold I look at her in awe at the strength she has Her heart and beauty something truly to behold House of lies they still live, and act though all is fine People turn their head the other way But now I have entered the picture And I am here to stay No matter what the cost, no matter what the pain I will not leave her side, forever I will love For I know our love was a match made in heaven And a gift sent from high above Amy M. Amy this is what I meant when I said you had a wonderful honest heart. This is a fantastic write from you, utterly amazing. Full of truth and honesty, and full of the love you have too. This is full of your spirit, and full of your determination that your love will not fade and die.
