Lying here,
Alone again,
All I can do
To warm my soul
From the relentless chill
Of loneliness,
I look back on the time
When I could effortlessly
Stare at your face.

If only memories
Could fulfill the desire
Embedded in my soul,
I would not have this longing
To be in your arms;
I would not miss the way
The pain would diminish
At your touch.

If only memories
Could replenish my soul,
I would not need to hear
Your reassuring words.
You convinced me
Of the certainty of love
When I would not believe;
You gave your all
To persuade me.

Now I miss you terribly
And wait impatiently
To feel your arms
Around me again.

I won't go, I won't sleep, I can't breathe until you're resting here with me...

Snowpants,
So much loneliness and heartache in here. Please remember that we are all with you at Passions. All with arms open offering our love and compassion. Cheer up!

"Now I miss you terribly
And wait impatiently
To feel your arms
Around me again".

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love

snowpants,

I can feel the ache of longing and memories throughout this one.  Maybe someday, it will be for good.  Hang in there.

It gave me a saddened feeling as I read the words of your poem.  You can so express yourself.  You are such a wonderlful poet.  I hope and pray that things will get better.  Just  keep on writing.  Roger

I remember this feeling. Beautiful poetry, but don't drive yourself crazy waiting.

"If only", words I live by, unfortunately. This is lovely, and inspired, and I hope you can bring him back from the memory and into now..

Hi...ummm, I haven't read your poem yet.  But don't worry, I will.  The title just caught my eye and I wanted to say something about it before I read the poem.  "If Only Memories Could."  I wonder what you are going to say about that.  Are you going to say that memories can do anything...or that memories can do nothing, although they are everything?  I, personally, think it's the former.  Memories, to me, can do anything.  I believe that a memory is just an extension of the imagination, and I for one have a very extensive imagination.  My imagination can do pretty much anything and everything I can ask.  And if I incorporate a memory into my imagination, the possibilities are endless.

I am going to go read your poem now.  BRB.  Okay...apparently I can't go back and read it.  So I'm just gonna submit this one...then I'll be back.  Again.  *Grins*

Back.  Sorry about the wait.  I figured it's two thirty in the morning in Kansas, so if you're still awake waiting for me...then it certainly isn't my problem.  LOL

Certainly wasn't what I was expecting, but not entirely what I wasn't expecting either.  I guess my imagination just gets the better of me at times.  I wonder if you have to stay in a little dream world for the effects to be entirely effective.  Now you got me thinking again...

So sad, my friend......I can feel the ache here, and know that feeling too well. You do know how to write with your heart, and that makes your work beautiful......(pardon the tears, ok)
