Listening to every heart

                         lunchtime lovelies

                         the best of times
                         alone with thought
                         to see which way
                         the pen shall wrought

                         all around
                         the people loom
                         and alone am I
                         in this hurried room

                         ‘tis better so
                         I hear the voice
                         it says “all right,
                         you have the choice
                         to speak your mind
                         or let thoughts dwell
                         regardless, it’s done ~
                         ‘twill be truth to tell”

                         and all around
                         the aromas waft
                         a hunger of mind
                         leaves my body safe
                         no food just now
                         can fill the void
                         on wings of lift
                         I’ll be buoyed…

                         there is no way
                         to sit and tell
                         these my thoughts
                         their way to dwell
                         whether they languish
                         or pick up steam
                         these thoughts alone
                         will lead to dreams

All alone with your thoughts even while in the midst of the lunchtime crowd....typical poet mind I'd say and it will never change because that's where the beautiful difference in people becomes so marvelous. You might recite a poem to the guy reading the stock market journal at the same lunch table and he might grasp it but probably not appreciate it (not in all cases) the same way. So you do what you love to do from the heart and you're right, those thoughts quite often turn into dreams, for a poet.....loved this one Sunshine ............ethome

Oh,
You are really wonderful, sis!!!  How can you write such fantastic thoughts with lunch aromas floating all around, in an office that I can only guess is really busy?  My hat is off to you......you do have power of concentration!!

I know this feeling well, Sunshine...but sometimes my thoughts are a crowd of me...and they won't shut-up.  Great poem!

Karilea~
I know just how you feel ...
Such appeteasers of delight fill my mind at the appointed hour.

It is quite a treat to know that others
share the same poetic aromas.

Sunshine, That was really a great poem.  You have such a way with words.  Really looking forward to more.

I sometimes write on my way to work, myself.

Thanks again for the welcoming card.  Roger
