I remember
your eyes
radiantly blue
looking at me
so lovingly,
tenderly,
precious.

I remember
how my breath
caught and my heart
seemed to stop
when I'd notice you glancing
at me. Again.

I remember
holding your hand
hugging you tight
showing you all the places
dear to me here
so few (my quiet life)
but each one important
in a special way.

But I especially remember
that night
you, re-packing your bags
me, sitting on the windowbench
and you’d come over to me
periodically
sensing (sharing?)
my heartbreaking ache
and you’d kiss me
hug and hold me.

I felt so loved then
treasured, dear,
and I knew
no matter the difficulties
that stretched before us,
far-reaching and
seemingly insurmountable,
somehow we would finangle
a way to be together
once and for always.

"A smile is when your inner beauty comes outside."

Love will always find it's way. regardless of distance or time. When it's there, it will never leave. Hope things work out.(if they didn't already)

There are places inside our souls -
that have never been touched.
There are places inside our hearts -
that need to be loved this much.

LoriJaye--

this is a lovely poem! speaks much of the
love you share with another person. true
love will stand the test of time and
distance and all obstacles. if something
is truly meant to be...it will be. i hope
things worked out or work out for you

Ron - Thank you. It's a love in progress. And you are right...love never leaves - even if things DON'T work out.

Janet Marie - Thank you so much!

And thank you, Kit!

Amy - Thank you. How often I repeat to myself, "if it is meant to be, it will be." Still daunting to look at what stands before you...to keep pressing forward. Yet the rewards at the end will be soooo worth it!

Victoria - Thank you. Yes, I met the Biki. He seems to make a point of meeting all his online friends when he travels. He's a good man.

Jeffrey - Thank you so much. I have faith in my love and an endless supply of poetry to share here - no fear!

oh my, this is sooo beautifully sad!

Look within the heart of a poet, and you will see a reflection of their soul.

Oh yes I know this feeling well...the longing for a future you cant quite see or touch.
